Sonic Herbarium

Te Urewera is a vast area of native forest in the central North Island. Long protected by Ngāi Tūhoe, it remains a place of deep spiritual, cultural and ecological significance. These recordings were made in Okataina, along the Whirinaki River and surrounding forested ridges.
